poppy seed pancakes.

first time making pancakes, with quite some help cooking them. i very nicely made the batter, which was SUPER easy, just dont over-mix them. and also took photographs of the followinglovely poppy seed pancakes (yes, i do love them):

we had lovely honey we bought from a small shop in a park somewhere in eastern europe. the shopkeeper was selling quite a few types of honey, and as you can see the honeycomb was inside the jar as well. this was realaly rather lovely honey.

the pancakes are hearty with the wholewheat flour, and very different (in an absolutely perfect way) with the poppy seeds. the chef prefers the flatish kind of hotcake pancakes, but i absolutely love these. fluffy, thick and quite rather nutritious, they go wonderfully with honey.
(p.s. i think these might be overshadowed by maple syrup, but go with whatever you'd like)

made from 101 cookbooks (recipe here) but i made the following changes:

1. used half whole wheat and half white flour to substitute for the white whole wheat pastry flour
2. used 1 tbsp of lemon juice + scant 1 cup milk to make 1 cup of buttermilk (dont believe in buying the stuff).
